Pamela S Thibodeaux was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana – USA
She is 40 something and happily married.
Tell us what makes you proud to be a writer from Louisiana? Many people don't understand our Cajun culture - some even believe we are still backwater hicks with no sense of progress or purpose. I am proud to be a Cajun and hope to encourage people to check out all of the talent in our State.
What or who inspired you to become a writer? The initial inspiration to become a writer happened when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 25 after reading one-too-many "sappy little romances." Not sure if the book was really all that bad or if I just had a hormonal moment, but that was the impetus to start writing.
When did you begin writing with the intention of becoming published? Yes, I always knew I’d be published. I just didn’t realize how hard that would be or how long it would take LOL!
Did your environment or upbringing play a major role in your writing and why? I think the thing that played the biggest role in my writing was the fact that my mother was an avid reader and she encouraged me to read early on. I remember when the family would go fishing and I’d sit in the car and read (after I got tired of out-fishing everyone of course LOL!)
Do you come up with your title (s) before or after you write the manuscript (s)? Usually afterward. When I begin a novel, I never really know what it’s all about or what’s going to happen. I’m 100% SOTP (seat of the pants) writer. Sometimes a story will start with a single thought or a character will just pop into my mind and start talking, or a scene will play over and over in my mind until I start writing it down.
Tell us why you write the genre(s) that you write? I write Inspirational romance & women’s fiction.
What special projects are you working on now and what books do we have to look forward to in the future? I am currently waiting on the release of my 4th Tempered novel and editing my debut Women’s Fiction novel, The Visionary. I have 1 short story to rewrite/lengthen; 1 short story that I want to write; 1 short story I’ve been writing for over a year and want to finish and another novel that I need to self-edit so that I can submit it.
Is there anything else that you would like to share? Yes, I’d like to take a moment to thank you for what you do to help promote authors. I’d also like to thank God for my continued success and to thank my Readers for their love and support throughout my career. May God BLESS you All!
Pamela S Thibodeaux has written and published 4 full length books and 3 short E-books.
