In 2011 we have changed our policy regarding small publisher due to the economic climate. Books In Sync will now a contract with small publishers to create an Author/Publisher’s page for the same initial set up fee, book placement, and renewal rates that our individual authors pay. The Books In Sync Promotional Contract is renewed each year and encompasses our three websites.

The Volunteer Staff, Volunteer Partners and Service Providers communicate and work directly with authors and small publishers to help them promote their books and their online presence. At Books In Sync we do all the work so authors can focus on writing. Books In Sync does not allow outside advertising on the site, except for our logos that we place on the bottom of the site pages to draw more attention from search engines.
The Volunteer Staff, Volunteer Partners and Service Providers at Books In Sync are dedicated to providing authors with every means of promotion we possibly can and at a price they can afford. We educate authors about establishing their online presence, presenting themselves to the public, tips on what works and what doesn’t, advice based on previous sales experience, good or bad, and the importance of making sure everything given us to present to the public on their behalf has been proofed and approved in advance.

We ask in return that you communicate with us, check any documents we present for approval before posting to the internet, and ask questions if you are uncertain and that you also participate as much as possible.
Books In Sync Service Providers Are Not Employees. Each Service Provider Is A Contracted Service. Books In Sync Is Not Responsible For The Service, Financial Arrangement, Or Outcome Of The Contracted Services. The Responsibilities Are Between The Contracted Service Provider And The Author/Client.
Please be advised that periodically, Books In Sync volunteer staff and service providers will send emails to share site upgrades and/or important news, including advance notice of annual subscription renewal, changes in policies, changes or upgrades in services, and anything related to Books In Sync authors and their books.
Please be advised that you need to set your mailbox settings accordingly in order to receive periodic emails from Books In Sync so that you never miss an update. We also recommend that you set your Google Alerts with your name, our names (Books In Sync), and your book titles in order to follow what we are doing on your behalf.
Please be advised that out of respect for the hard work that Books In Sync volunteer staff and service providers do to market you and your book(s), ignoring email correspondence for 6 consecutive months or mail daemon occurrences, your Author Page will be subject to becoming (put on hold) and non-viewable by the public eye.
Please be advised that out of respect for the ongoing expenses at Books In Sync after three consecutive occurrences of non-communication or one mail daemon occurrence your Author Page and all materials you’ve submitted will be subject to being hidden from public view upon the sole discretion of the Books In Sync Management. You’ve come to us to help you promote your book(s) and you must understand that you also have to participate in the promotion if you expect results.
If given notice that it’s time to renew your annual subscription and you do not comply within 30 days of notice, your page will be hidden from public view until a mutual resolution is found. If your page is hidden from public view and you decide to return at a later date, you will have the start the process over and pay the going rate at that time.
Books In Sync reserves the right to keep, maintain, advertise, market, or promote any author or books with prior contract and Author’s Page due to live links that have been placed at social networking sites, ezines, or other places that link back to our Books In Sync. For example: If we hide your page for any reason including your decision to leave, we will keep your live off-site promotion in tact (even when we hide your author’s page from public view) in order to maintain the live links that link back to Books In Sync.
Please be advised that you will be requested to fill out a legal and binding “promotional contract” for each year of promotion. Any new materials submitted after the initial setup is subject to additional fees.
Once you have decided on and paid for a service (onsite or offsite promotion) at Books In Sync there are no refunds due to the labor involved with each service package.
It Is The Author’s Responsibility To Make Sure That The Information (links) On His/Her Page Is Always Current.

§ All Renewing Authors Will Get An Updated Promotional Contract For Each Renewal Year Starting 2011.
§ Renewing Authors Receive A Special Recognition On Our Books In Sync Home Page (photo album by year).
§ Renewing Authors Books In Sync Press Release Will Be Revised And Posted On The Author’s Page And At Scribd.
§ When it is time to renew, you will receive an email invitation from Books In Sync, followed by a Pay Pal Invoice. If after the invitation letter and invoice we don’t hear from you, your page will be hidden from public view.
§ When and if you decide to Books In Sync your Author’s Page will be hidden from the public rather than deleted. This is because Books In Sync will place live links on line in various places leading back to your Author’s Page. If we delete the page, it creates dead links which harm our search engine ratings. So instead of deletion we simply put a note on your page stating: “This page has been hidden from public view by Books In Sync”.

Books In Sync (McLean Services) is not an employer or publisher. Books In Sync is a for-profit sole proprietorship dedicated to the promotion of authors and their books.
Contractors/Service Providers:
All authors and service providers are self-contractors when they agree to place their books on Books In Sync. All authors are responsible for reporting their own books sales to their appropriate State and Federal Tax authorities in the US or in their country when their book profits exceed the allowed hobby amount. Books In Sync (McLean Services) does not hold out or report taxes. This is the sole responsibility of the contracted Author.
Books In Sync Service Providers Are Not Employees. Each Service Provider Is A Contracted Service. Books In Sync Is Not Responsible For The Service, Financial Arrangement, Or Outcome Of The Contracted Services. The Responsibilities Are Between The Contracted Service Provider And The Author/Client.
All the specialty/resource author services (service providers) listed on Books In Sync are owned by private contractors. Books In Sync cannot be held liable for work performed by a private contractor referral.
Any agreement between an author and a private contractor is a matter subject to the parties involved only. Books In Sync is a promotional site only offering onsite promotion only. All other services listed on the site are private contractors, including but not limited to: Off Site Promotion, Editing, Book Reviews, Book Trailers, Book Covers, Business Promotional Aids, E-Book Digital Publishing, POD Book Publishing, Etc.).

Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. At Books In Sync we want to make your experience online is satisfying and safe. Books In Sync gathers user information on an Optional Voluntary basis. We offer the services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users.
Books In Sync does not sell or give away email addresses or other personal information. All information supplied by members if done so voluntarily and is used for the sole purpose of promoting authors and books.

As of November 2011 Books In Sync will no longer accept books, book covers, book trailers or offer a promotional contract to an author that uses the occult, eroticism and the promotion of illegal activities.
Book Excerpts are reviewed on an individual bases and Books In Sync holds the right to decline any material not suited for our Family Oriented Books In Sync, Cold Coffee and Books In Sync Cold Coffee (hard copy) Writer’s Magazine.

Service Prices Subject to Change Policy:
Books In Sync is an annual subscription site and reserves the right to change prices without notice because of time restrictions based on the number of volunteer staff, turn around times, amounts of submissions and marketing expense. The price change will be reflected in the new pricing information on the proper page of the site. No Refunds under any circumstance. If an author subscribes and then cancels, he or she will have to pay whatever the going subscription fee is if they wish to return later.
