Quote From Author:
“I was born in Wallasey, on the Wirral, in a modest little terrace house which stood on a busy road. My early life was full of adventure, getting up to all sorts of mad antics, some of which got me into quite a lot of trouble with the authorities...but we won't go into that! School, for me, was a total drag. I hated every minute of it. A natural rebel, I simply refused to do anything. I caused my poor parents endless sleepless nights of worry! My teachers hated me, I'm sure! Well, there were a couple - Mr. Davies was a great teacher, and he actually had great faith in me as a writer, poet and artist! I'll always have very fond memories of him, but I doubt if he remembers me.
With no qualifications, I went from one dead-end job to the next. I met some great people and had some wild times, but I never felt as if I was doing anything really worthwhile. I traveled a lot, living in Israel and Germany for a while. Everywhere I went I met people and saw places which fired my imagination. All of these wonderful memories have helped me develop my skills as a writer - so my thanks to every single one of you who have blessed my life!
Finally I woke up. At 29 years of age, I returned to school. I managed to pass my GCEs, then the following year I did my 'A' levels. A world of opportunity was now open to me, and I went to Teacher Training College in Liverpool and qualified four years later.
Married, with a young family, my work took me to some wonderful places - Cornwall, Alderney, Suffolk. Every step of the way I would file away little snippets of information to use in future stories. Because, all the time, I was determined to become a writer.
I moved to Spain about two years ago, looking to start a new life in the Sun! I'd been working as a teacher in the UK for about 16 years. Things had changed quite a lot, paperwork and admin were dominating every waking moment. Every day there was a new 'initiative' to incorporate, and this meant more plans to write down and submit, projections to make, outcomes to consider...it was just too much. Spain seemed to offer the hope of me returning to what I love most in my work - teaching!
Spain has given me not only a great working environment, it has also given me the time to concentrate on my other great passion - writing!

Death's Dark Design
by Glenn Stuart
Another superb contribution from this Master of Mystery, which is equally, if not even more thrilling and spine-chillingly-tingly than his previous books. As always, one is gripped and intrigued from the very first , and each chapter-ending leaves the reader compelled to keep reading. Now immortal, having drunk the powerful waters of The Well, Robbie is convinced he has nothing to fear; but soon finds his new powers are severely tested as he is once again haunted by supernatural forces. In his quest to overcome the evil forces which threaten his life, he faces a series of dark and sinister encounters , ancient demons, terrifying monsters, macabre deeds and gruesome tortures. Dark and disturbing, this book is an exciting experience. Superbly written, the stomach-churning, toe-curling episodes are most definitely not suitable for those of a nervous disposition. "Death's Dark Design" is Glenn Stuart's sequel to "The Well of Constant Despair" and makes it his fourth book to be published this year, following on from "Cold Hell in Darley Dene" and "The Accursed Dawn". His latest contribution, "The Pawnbroker", is due to be released later this year, and he already has more in the pipeline.

The Accursed Dawn
by Glenn Stuart
Shortly before his fifteenth birthday, Max leaves the only home he has known to move, together with his family, to a lonely and remote island in the middle of the English Channel. His new residence turns out to be an apartment in a converted block of buildings that used to be an old military hospital. What happened there during WWII, the unspeakable horrors and torture that the inmates were subjected to, soon becomes clear to Max as he begins to uncover the truth through a series of grim and grisly incidents. Who was the Commandant at the time who perpetrated the horrors which sealed the doom of so many unfortunates? And how are the secretive and powerful men, who seem to control every aspect of the island's life, connected with what really went on in that hellish place? As Max becomes increasingly embroiled in the mystery of what happened his life, and those of his friends, are endangered. It seems that someone wants the secrets to remain hidden and will stop at nothing to keep it that way. From the very beginning Glenn Stuart sets a chilling atmosphere, and the intrigue and mystery gains pace from page to page as he increases the tension to dizzying heights. With the addition of ghostly apparitions, weird spine-chilling incidents, and a demon quite beyond normal imagination, this author has once again surpassed himself with this thrilling tale guaranteed to send chills down the spines of adults both young and old. "The Accursed Dawn" is the prequel to "The Well of Constant Despair" but can be enjoyed entirely as a book in its own right. "Cold Hell in Darley Dene" is another very worthwhile read from the pen of this most erudite Master of mystery and horror.

The Pawnbroker
by Glenn Stuart
Another sinister tale of mystery and suspense from the pen of that 'Master of Mystery', Glenn Stuart. With a background set amongst narrow, dark twisting streets covered in grime and decay, this horror story for young adults is a grisly tale based on the murder of two young boys which took place back in the late eighteen sixties. In those days - when poverty was rife with many families having to share dank dark accommodation, children as young as five or six forced out to work to keep hunger at bay, and life for many a matter of merely existing from day to day - danger and death lurked around every corner. Amongst this squalor, The Pawnbroker plied his trade; a man of evil temper who craved that one item which would bring him the comforts and luxury he so coveted. Switching to the present-day, two teenage boys find themselves exploring an old abandoned Tudor-style house within which is an eerie atmosphere which fills the boys with a growing sense of dread. Something sinister is in the air as the past begins to haunt them and so begins this tale of dark, malevolent, unnatural forces, which is guaranteed to keep the reader on the edge of their seat until the very last page. "The Pawnbroker" follows "Cold Hell in Darley Dene"; "The Accursed Dawn"; "The Well of Constant Despair"; and we are pleased to learn that the Author's next book, "Don Luis", is soon to be published.

The Well of Constant Despair
by Glenn Stuart
Anyone who has already read "Cold Hell in Darley Dene" by this erudite Author and enjoyed it, will surely be thrilled by "The Well of Constant Despair" (previously published as "The Well of Despair") for Glenn Stuart has surpassed himself with this tale centred around a teenage boy's discovery of an old disused Well in what was once a leper field. From the start he manages to create a shivery atmosphere in which to cloak the reader throughout as he builds up the suspense chapter by chapter. Particularly spooky is his delivery of the contents of some old papers penned by an Arthur Farrington Cunningham to his wife in circa 1819, which go some way towards explaining the ghostly presence of the spirit of Ignatia, once a wandering Christian monk now intent upon seeing a stolen Cross is rightfully restored to the Monks of Saint Ignatia's Well in order to return peace to the place. This piece is so well written that if one allows the imagination to take over, one has to stop to take a breath before continuing to read on. A truly fascinating tale exceptionally well written and compiled, and of appeal to anyone who likes a mysterious ghost story subtly wrapped and presented with believable characters, giving rise to wondering whether in fact it is pure fantasy - or could it possibly have some factual foundation? Read it and make up your own mind.

The Story of Don Luis
by Stuart G. Yates
Spain 1648. Luis, almost fifteen, is very different from almost every other young person in the small, sweltering village of Riodelgado. He is different because he can read. Targeted by the local toughs, who make his life a misery, Luis works tirelessly to provide for his ailing mother and young sister. Then, one day, a mysterious stranger comes to the village and gradually everything begins to change. The stranger is a soldier, wandering through Spain searching out opportunities.
As soon as the soldier appears, terrible things begin to happen. People are murdered; children disappear. The Mayor blames an ogre. The soldier supports this view and can give evidence of the hideous creature. And he demands it be hunted down.
However, whilst talking to his old tutor, it becomes clear to Luis that there is far more to this story than just the appearance of an ogre. Could it be that this mythical beast is in some way a smokescreen, designed to keep everyone from the truth?
